Default Exhaust Header Red Hot

I have a 1993 KLX650. I started it yesterday and let it run and idle for an extended peiod of time. The exhaust header became glowing red hot. i was wondering if this was nomral by just letting it idle for an extended period of time or I have a mixture that is too lean and may need to be rejetted or an exhasut valve stuck or something. Let me know if this is normal and just due to the idling and not riding. Thanks.

Default Re: Exhaust Header Red Hot

This is the usual experience, not recommended, will cause the stainless steel to corrode at an increased rate.
