Default Change we could all live with . . .

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. These solutions are just common sense in her opinion. This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women
Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test
recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.
Your home will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.
If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check.

If you want to vote, then get off Gov't subsistence.

Maybe we should have her run for President

Yes sir!!!

Get her a seat at the front of the line and she's next in the top position to run things! With thinking like that our economy would be on a steady upward swing and would never look back......I have said this for years....make them work for their handouts and take away all of the nice things the rest of us have to work and save for. I also agree with the no more breaders policy......again I've said the same thing....some folks see breading as a way to generate more funds it seems...the more they bread the more they recieve...it's a never ending cycle of people on the system.

Damn....too bad I'm so old...I'd be courting her for sure!...oh yes...plus I'm married so that is a bit of a problem too....but damn this woman has smarts!

She needs to run for office and get the fast track to the top!

We'll take her if you guys won't!

Good to hear all the positive responses here at KLR.net. This wouldn't fly too long over on the adventure channel.

while i agree with the sentiment i am not finding this entry on the newspapers site. for 2011 or 2010. i am thinking it was written by some old ex-military white guy and not a young lady.

to bad this would never make it to a states legislature. which reminds me, welfare is a state issue, not federal. why are my federal taxes paying for welfare again?

Why do I bother putting humorous stuff up if you guys can't separate it from serious.

Researching it further, not as humor but for reality of it's origins.
Snopes failed to find a match in the search I performed but did find these

http://independentrealist.blogspot.c...us-x-none.html

and

http://www.theveteransvoice.com/Put-me-in-charge.html

both say was written by Alfred W. Evans, Gatesville, TX - a retired Army sergeant
Went viral last year and has since been morf'd into a humorous version - which was sent to me and I posted here in the Comedy section.

MetricInch please get with KilLeR Kawasaki and help each other find that humorous bone that I must have lost.

Humor to me, has to be looking at something and see the other side of what is could be. Not everyone finds every joke funny. I shall put disclaimers on mine in future I guess.

Pick another subject - Marriage for instance

Marriage is like a deck of cards.

In the beginning, there's two hearts and a diamond.

Towards the end, you want a club and a spade.

If you are unmarried or happily married this could be seen as funny, but if you are unhappily married you might not see any humor in it.

What I see thru my mind's eye that I think other's will laugh at, I share. Some I laugh at, but don't share as I know many have not had the same experiences that I had that allows me to laugh at it. I have a friend with MS, some days he shakes so bad we can't go shooting. If we go and he starts shooting wildly, I make a crack about the MS, he comes back with just trying to shoot groups that look like mine. If he didn't laugh at his situation I'm sure he would be very depressed.

“Explaining humor is a lot like dissecting a frog, you learn a lot in the process, but in the end you kill it.” ― Mark Twain

Getting off my podium now.
