Pop no start

I seam to have a problem,I have a 08 KLR with 9K miles,the other day I was going for a ride turned the key on slid the chock on pushed the go button,it went BAG and now it will only turn over but not start. This happened last year just as I was loaded up heading too WV. sense I'm old I can't remember what I did but a couple of days later it started.Any thoughts out there in KLR land? I'm going too pull the tank and check the plug and timing but that bothers me it doesn't give rise to being comfortable in leaving town,also I replaced the rear light with the LED that was being sold here and I was at the bank last week and went to start the bike and there was nothing,I jumped started it and got home found that the main fuse had blown have any one experienced that after putting the light in?
