Besides, by the time his turn comes up, he will have been a member for a month I think. Can we see a show of hands? No? OK, a show of opinions then, we know everyone has one... |

Dentists make lots of $$$ too, he was the last person I'd expect not to return a tool.

I second the question. Is this still going around? I plan on changing my doo as soon as I can and this would help greatly
edit: I am also greener than baby snot, so I understand if I am not trustowrthy enough yet. Completely understandable. Last edited by rock_fish : 11-05-2012 at 12:19 PM. |

I've recieved the Doo from Mike, I would like to get on the list for the "tool" but it sounds like its missing, or tied up. Any other loaner tools out there? I'm in the Pacific NW , maybe we could find some common ground and do the 'doo's together ? Just a thought.

Drop me a line if you feel like you need a hand & your in the same area I am though. ![]() I do have an electric impact wrench that combined with the rotor puller tool, makes easy work of the rotor removal.

Thanks for responding Airjunky, I live in Hope Id , not to far. I will probably purchace the rotor tool if it doesn't show up. I would welcome your help when I get all the ducks in a row. I also need to install the thermobob. Everything is stock so far. Just getting started, Thanks again, Kelly

Right on, Kelly. We have been hanging out in Sandpoint quite a bit the last year or so.... skiing at Schweitzer or playing on the lake.
Keep your feelers out for the doo tools. And likewise, I'll let you know if I hear of any available too.

I see a lot of great tool kits here but here is a new thought. I'm not a novice rider and like many of you I pack way too many tools causing more weight and taking up room. First thing is make sure your bike is well maintained in advance of a long ride. I have my tires pre-slimed and checked my chain. Tires and chain issues seem to lead the pack for problems...and parts falling off.
I have a mini socket set, allen wrenches, pocket tool, pocket multi-meter and a good screwdriver set. I also have screws, nuts, bolts, zip ties, wires, electrical and duct tape. BUT you have to know what you need for where you are riding. If it's going to be a ride alone to the wilderness, Mexico or Alaska pack more. This summer I'm riding to Maine with my two son's. The plan is going as light as possible and if we need a specific tool we'll buy it at a Walmart or NAPA which are in just about every town. As a last resort we have AAA Plus RV to take the bike where I can either borrow the tools or buy. I personally like Auto Zone, more than once I've needed to make repairs and they usually will bend over backwards to help and even lend tools. |
