Default Centersatnd for the '08- revised

The Twisted Throttle centerstand for the KLR650e (2008 onwards) has undergone a revision to improve upon it functionality. Simply put - we added a leverage arm to help raise it.

You will notice that the centerstand leverage arm rests behind the kick stand and will not interfere with cornering clearance.

The grab handle is still included and the cost has remained the same at 139.99 You can see it here: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3812

I bought a center stand from you on March 11th, any chance of a trade in because it is a pain to use without the arm that has been added.

OMG the price now is $179.99 ....at 29% price increase! I wish my Social Security check would go up as fast!

Too much of an increase for my very tight budget!

Will the arm be added to the stands for the older KLRs?

Sorry for the delay. I asked our product development team and they say that an upgrade to the previous model's centerstand is not planned by SW-Motech.

While the centerstand for the pre-'08 KLR doesn't have the foot lever arm, you can bolt on the lift handle to make getting your KLR onto the stand a lot easier. This is the same handle that comes with the '08-on centerstand . It's not on our website, but call and ask for part# HPS.08.364.LIFT.

If you have a hard case sidecarrier that you can grab onto, then this lifting handle probably isn't necessary.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Does this centerstand inhibit the use of any other farkles? Like crash bars, I know I want crashbars, and I'm hoping this centerstand would like to be included.

How about any other issues. Will it work with your skidplate and crashbars, all at once? Thanks.

They all do work together XLR. There is a little bit of "sequencing" that needs to be done as there are shared bolting points.

For the front you have to install the crashbars and then the skid plate. Loosely bolt everything up and then go to the back mounting point. This mounting point is the foot peg mounts. Here you will install in this order: Center Stand, Crash Bars, Foot Peg, Center Stand. Each of these components comes with bolts to install the item by itself or with the other items. Where we can, we like to reasonably anticipate all of the possible configurations and include the proper components to address this.

I just finished installing the SW motech crash bars, engine guard, and center stand. I like the setup, although I find it's alot of pressure on the footpeg mounts so I hope I don't run into any issues, also if I ever want to change out my footpegs (a little difficult to line everything up but I also did it solo, I don't recommend that).

I am planning on doing up a little instruction page at some point soon with a few photos 1 question for trister throttle. The top bolt on the front mounting bracket on the engine guard (the one that doesn't hold the guard itself) do you use the upgraded longer bolt as per the crash bar instructions or the stock one as per the engine guard instructions. I have it with the upgraded bolt now and it seems to be tightened to the end of the thread and holding some pressure on the components but not really get tight. I will try to upload a photo soon (don't have my camera with the photos on me right now).

Thanks

If you could send a picture directly that might be helpful. twistedrider at twistedthrottleD0Tc0m. I will follow up with the tech support guys and get an answer for you.

Note for everyone doing installs of all twisted throttle items, we suggest that you lay out the bolts and group them according to the parts list. Most instructions include photos. Be certain you are using the right bolts and spacers in the right locations. It can be confusing. In this particular case you might be using the correct set of bolts for installing both items and the spacers for the installation of the bars or skid plate individually....

I'll get it sent to you right away. Good advice I did lay everything out and it made a huge difference, the confision arrises because the crash bar instructions have the longer bolt mentioned (with stock bracket) due to the extra space of the crash bars that mount and act like spacers almost but the engine guard instructions show the stock bolt since the crash bars would not be there. So using logic I figured the longer bolt would be required since the extra space taken up by the spacers of the crash bars.... hope this isn't sounding too confusing, it made sense to me.

I'll fire you off a photo tonight probaly when I get to my digital camera at home.
