Right now we are hand cutting the low seats so the low mold is next to be made. We have no problem making a tall version if there is enough interest in it. So all of you on here wanting a tall version post up, if enough maybe can set up a group buy. Just be aware it takes about 3 weeks from start to finish of the new model design.

I will be ready for a tall one this winter. 6'3"/34"/200lbs and on the stock seat I can flat foot with bent knees.

I would like a tall seat to have not so much forward slope.

Im a 50 year old rider. I like dual sport because where I live you never know what to expect! I like the back roads and trails and I've road trails since I was 16. You name it we done it except for back flips! just never thought of it. I road about everything out there at one time or another, and then I rode my nieghbors KLR650! That was it! I was hooked! Now Lord Willing I have exactly what I wanted. A 2007 model. last year with a carburator! Im not a fan of fuel injection, Im old school. So far this it has been the best bike I've ever owned! Just one problem. I have to tip toe to reach the ground! I've been reading some posts elsewhere that using loweing links at 1 inch and a flat seat that lowers it another inch is the way to go. before I do this ( which I can always change it back ), somebody give me some advice and input. I'd deeply appreciate it! Corbin seats are expensive and have mixed reviews. Ive already dropped this thing once in the yard almost sitting still as I figured would happen! Not moving! Lord Willing I'll grow back, but I don't want to hurt this bike! please! Some advise!

Lowering links for rear suspension (you can go more than 1" lower if you want), a lower seat, and push the forks higher in the triple clamps to match.

And even the new 2013 KLR 650 is carbureted. No FI for us.

I installed the Seat concepts flat seat with firm foam. It was fun to install and has helped me ride for hours without fatigue. I would really like a tall option. I can flat foot both feet with room to spare. 6'4" 250lbs and 34 inseam.

The slope reduction would be nice. I slip on hard braking and downshifting. If I could do it again I would get the non-slip option as well.

Would buy a tall seat that had little slope in a second. Need one now.

Default You ask, you will receive!

Based on all the feedback from our customers or prospective customers we are in the process of making the TALL version. It will be for the most part flat from the front to back so there will be no slope into the tank. The height added will be about 1.5 inches. This will be a base line but final height is not set. Thanks for the interest and if you guys have any input let us know as the shape should be finalized this week.

1.5 inches extra might be a lot. Maybe shoot for more like an inch? That would take out most of the slope.

I'll buy one either way. Especially if we have some kind of winter discount... I'm a sucker for discounts.

I'm glad the tall seat option is imminent, Robert.

I'm ready for a tall SC seat. My inseam is 38 to 40 inches (I have to order all my pants). An inch or 1.5 inch would be great since I need a new seat anyway. I'm ready to order immediately.

I would bet there are lots of tall KLR650 riders like myself (6'6") who were specifically attracted this bike's seat height.

Sincerely

Ed.

Here is a picture of a 1 inch taller seat mock-up. As you can see, the valley absorbed most of the 1 inch and will only be about 1/2 inch where you sit. Time for everyone to chime in. 1 inch or only 1/2 inch more?

I went and sat on my stock '05. With two Walmart gel pads and a Coleman ATV seat cover (so about 2 1/2" additional, but the gel pads are very compressible) I was on the ground with the balls of both feet in runners.

So, I could probably go the full 1 1/2" extra to make the seat flat and still reach the ground. But I think 1" will take out enough of the slope to make the seat comfy, when combined with the usual SC nice foam and wider shape.

I'm realizing that I sit far enough back on the seat when riding that additional height really won't help my leg room at lot so there's no point making it REALLY high in front.

BTW, 6'3"/200lbs/34" pants.
