Default Anyone Cut Spacers?

I'm about to do the install and was wondering if you guys left the OEM spacers at stock length or did you cut them down 1/2 an inch?

If you are installing intiminators, I left mine stock. You can always cut them later.

I left mine stock as well and used Mobil 1 ATF. I used a McDonald's straw as a jig to determine the correct height for the fluid. You have to press down the springs and get the cap screw started but it's not too difficult. What a difference! No more vibrating mirrors, handlebars and much better road contact. These things are great!

On my '06 I used the amzoil 5w. I just dumped 14oz in each tube and it feels great.

I tried the intiminators with the stock spacers and it made the bike want to go straight and not turn. I got some PVC and cut them about 1/2 inch shorter and then the bike handled great. I weigh about 190, if you weigh more you may want to try the stock spacers first. On my wifes bike i cut a little bit more off of the PVC 'cause she weighs a lot less than I do.

I left my spacers stock on my 2009.

When I return from my 10,000 mile trip, I will change fork oil and cut down the spacers.

I think the rate is too high for offroad. But the bike handles wonderfully while loaded on-road. Replacement rear shock helps, too.

I'm a cutter. Just don't need so much preload with Intiminators, IMHO.
