If you wanna see how well a two year old SNB works you will have to come to the New Mexico Tech Day. There will be a few to see...

If you haven't seen this thing -- it's simple genius.
I was at the 8/30 Tech Day. Dave showed up, and between him and another gent, they shepherded me through the doo replacement process. Then he showed me the Sink-no-Bob. Ever had one of those "why the hell didn't I think of that?" moments? Damn... I think he said he cuts these out of heavy conveyor belting. The cross section looks like a downsized section of a steel-belted tire. Rugged, light, 2 minutes to install. After I arrived home, I thought I should test the S-n-B. I pushed the KLR over to a side of my house that has some loose sand (we get that here in New Mexico). I put the stand down, and gently -- nervously -- lowered the bike on to it , ready to make a quick grab at the bars if it were to keep on going. The S-n-B hit the ground. The bike stopped leaning. Safe for the moment. I tested it further. I created more self-induced anxiety by asking my wife to gently push the bike to see if the stand would sink and the bike start to tip. Didn't move. Heart rate slows. For what Dave's asking for the S-n-B versus what new plastic, levers, etc. will cost you if you drop the bike, the Sink-no-Bob is the cheapest insurance on the planet. Highly recommended. -- Mark |
