I put mine in a ditch in the Apalachicola National Forest at about 40mph. Was messing with my Vector and didn't realize the curve was quite that sharp. Should have gone down a gear and NOT gotten that much rear brake.

Lost both mirrors and the inst panel is loose. I came off of course and rolled a couple of times. But in good shape and got the bike up and rode the 130 miles back home.

Tomorrow will be a day of discovery under the instrument panel!

Ride Safe

Glad you are okay.

And that you were on a tough bike that made it home after a get off that hard........lots are not rideable afterwards.......I know they come into my shop in the back of a truck or on a trailer for repair all the time.

Ride safe.

Thanks, The SW Motech bars helped some and the ditch was somewhat soft. What really put me down was that I want over a culvert lip and got some air into the left side of the ditch. It was either the culvert or the pipe coming out of the ground with the yellow reflector. I went with the culvert.

I can't believe how many times I've been down in my live and never been really hurt.
I probably shouldn't ride alone as much as I do, but I have a Spot Tracker and cell phone always. Cell phone didn't make the connection when I tried calling back to the shop to order the mirrors. Finally got connected with I got out of the ANF. Ordered parts then called the wife.

I'm sore now... that's not a surprise with me being almost 72. Guess I'm a tough nut to crack.

Nelson Rigg saddle bags,
NVG rear truck,
KLX needle,

YZ 450 titanium pegs,
air pump removed,
GPS mount,
Acerbis Handguards,
Kawi tall shield,

Jeez Louise..... I don't want to know what all that cost. And I still need uhhh want a couple things to add to that list still. (T-Bob, fork brace, fork upgrade of some sort)
Add a T-bob to this list. Took about 2 hours all total and that included going to the parts house to get a longer bypass hose. Very nicely built piece of gear if you ask me.

When on KLR 650.net and talked about her, because she's sitting in the garage with a blown rear shock.

It okay though. Its only sunny and 60 degrees out, typical New England weather.

Glad to read your OK...or...at least not hurt bad.
Sounds like a good day to soak it up in a hot tub and a few gin & tonics...

Last time I tried that manoever, I broke three ribs & bruised a kidney. May have hit my helmeted head on a rock (don't remember that part) because I definitely lost consciousness. Rode the bike about 100 miles home after the 'get off'.

Peeing blood is a little shocking!

Today, I rode 08 around the neighborhood to various garage sales. This week I repaired a used set of SW Motech nerf bars, painted the welded spots, installed them, and made my 69 buck bike payment to HSBC. Figure they own it, I just have a (very) long term lease.

Had a Kawi dealer put on Motech crash bars and skid plate and Barkbuster Storm hand guards. He also tightened quite a few nuts and bolts that I now will be aware of by paint markings on them. Waiting on a new shroud that I will put on and getting the e-bay rear racks soon.

Grips vibrate alot more now and feeling some extra vibes from the Motech's and maybe it's just me but the bike seemed to scream at me to change gears with the bars on and at 4,000 rpm's no less (still breaking in).
