Default Powerbomb

Does anyone have an FMF Powerbomb on their KLR? Will it work with another manufacturer's slip on exhaust (LeoVince in my case - which mates nicely with the stock header)? Is there a noticeable difference in sound/performance?

Yep! Powerbomb header and Q4 silencer. Makes a great sound, but pops a lot on deceleration. I just ordered the kit from wymanwinn to get rid of the clean air system and hopefully that will stop the popping. I don't have any base for comparison cause I did $3k worth of mods right out of the box. I really wanna ride a stock one to see the diffrence!

Getting rid of the "Clean Air System" will eliminate the popping and will improve the performance substantially. Wyman's kit is nice. The little plate is perfect. Beats the hell out of trying to hack something together. I left my petcock stock, and like mine, your bike more than likely does not have the CA anti-smog junk, so you shouldn't have to do anything to the tank vent at the back of the tank (under the seat lip). Easy to check to see if you have this. If you do, there will be two vents back there. If you don't have the CA anti-smog garbage there will be only one, and leave it alone.

Did yoy guys with the Powebomb header do anything for a heat shield? The Powerbomb doesn't come with one, correct? BTW, Wyman claims his CAS kit really doesn't do anything to improve performance - just eliminate the popping. He sells the kit for $20, shipping included.
