Default Sat for 4 weeks and now it won't start

I haven't had time to ride lately . Today I had time. When I tried to start it (2001 klr650) it spun over great, but no fire. I had just put fuel in it on my last ride 4 weeks ago. I used a little ether and got nothing. Disassembled and pulled the plug, checked for spark. Its got blue sparks, albeit I'm suspect on the sparks quality.

btw. it was running just fine on my last ride and has never had any electrical gremlins.

Pulled the carb and its not gunked up at all. Dumped the fuel from the float bowl and it seemed nice and fresh.

for giggles I put the spark plug back in and shot some ether directly into the intake tract and cranked it over. I got a fart or two from the exhaust then a nice backfire from the intake tract which promptly set it on fire. No damage tho-. It didn't run at all on the ether.

Anyone have any thoughts? At this point I'm guessing its something electrical.

I'd try to jumpstart it before anything else. Sometimes the motorcycle batteries sound like they are turning over fine, just not quite fast enough to fire.

If you have a 2008 it may be the KACR or compression release.

Warranty paid for mine to be ground down 2/10,000's of an inch.

I was having issues but now she fires right up.

Junior650,
Thanks for the reminder. While I had the carb off I popped it apart, just to be sure. It was spotless. I picked up a new spark plug, put it all back together, hooked up a car battery. It farted once and that was it. So its either weak spark or incorrectly timed spark. I guess its time to start checking individual components. I just find it odd that it ran fine, I parked it for a bit and now it doesn't run.
I'm still open to suggestions.
