put a seat concepts seat on my 08 klr and at first i thought it was ok, but after 500 miles my butt hurt like no other, found the seat tilts to much forward. i would love to have a seat that has a flat contoured saddle depression in it. so i guess ill just keep looking

I put a Seat Concepts on my '01...my only gripe it that it's too tall....(short legs here)
Wider and more comphy than what came on the bike (a slightly modified stocker).... Lookin' for another seat pan if you replace your seat....let me know.....

Looks like you did a good job. Wish seat concepts would make a nice contoured seat for long distance rides. |

I will try to shed some light on this for some of you. I already went through this with Camus.
Our standard seat is the same height profile as the stock seat. Some people notice the slope after changing the seat because the stock seat is soft enough that you sink in and now more of your inner thigh and general body are supporting you. Once you replace the seat you are not sunken into to foam and now can sense the slope. This can be negated to compounded by bike suspension setup. With the rear sag set lower the slope in not as much or if the forks are up in the clamps the opposite is felt. We have been aware of the slope and our low version has more cut out at the rear of the seating area than the front. We did not do this with the standard version as there is lots of people out there that do not want a step seat. So you say why does it need to be a step seat? There is not enough foam on the rear of the seat to cut it flat from the forward seating area to the rear edge. This would also remove foam from the rear seating area. There is a lot of people who ride 2 up and less foam would not please many of them. The only other option is to add foam at the front and add height to the seat. This is not a option for many people. There is a tall version in the works that will have the slope addressed but that is not a high priority at this point as the demand does not warrant it. With the thousand of these seats sold and the general consensus showing the seat is a great upgrade for the cost. We can make a custom seat to your specs on slope, just contact us. |
