Hi Everybody!
I emailed TankVest yesterday about this and haven't heard back yet (not a complaint) but I figured in the meantime I'd also post my question here. Has anyone ran the TankVest on the new 10 Gallon IMS gas tank? It looks as though the TankVest for the Gen 2's (2008+) might work for the IMS, but I want to be sure before ordering. Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this. Oh yes, here are some pictures of the IMS tank for those who have yet to see one in the wild: And here is the Gen 2 TankVest I am thinking might fit the tank: -Mark

It won't fit. We're trying to locate a tank that we can pattern for the 10 gallon. The demand for this application has been quite surprising.
Basically, we need one of the tanks for about a week, maybe two depending on how the body lines work for the vest. I called IMS this morning to inquire about a loan of a tank for this. I'm expecting a call from management there tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated on this. Thanks and sorry for the delay in response. Mike Correction, that might fit. I just found the dimensions online. It's real close. Let me talk to IMS tomorrow and I'll let you know. Last edited by Mike at TankVest : 08-01-2012 at 08:56 PM. |

Thanks for the quick response. If you don't get anywhere with IMS I have yet to install or fill my tank with anything and might be willing to send it out to you. Let me know please. -Mark

I spoke to the wonderful folks at IMS and they are sending out a tank for us to pattern. We'll have the 10 gallon IMS tank patterned very soon.
My thanks to IMS for helping us out. They are great people with a great product. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mike |

Fantastic! I'm looking forward to getting a black one on my tank, and will post a full review once I've run it through its paces. Add me to the pre-order list please!

The application for the 1987 to 2007 will have to have different strap mounting I think. Thanks again! That is awesome! Mike |

Here are some additional pics:
the strap (highlighted in yellow) was very very tight to get on a bit more material would help a lot. Other than that a great fit. Quote:

Okay, you guys want more cover on that tank huh?
I'll see what we can do for it. Give me a few days to see how the strapping will have to work on it and we'll see if we can make it happen. Mike |

Dusty, I've changed the specs on that model tank Vest to add another inch of strap for that.
Thanks! Mike |

How tight is it? Would an inch of strap added do it?
