Default klr Seat pan

Can anyone tell me if older klr seat pans will interchange with my 2008. I'm wanting to get set up with a gel seat cover and foam without disturbing my original seat. Thanks

I want to keep my original seat. I was thinking I might find a seat off an older bike for cheap and order a gel seat cover and foam. Then I wouldn't have alot of money tied up in the deal. And if I didn't like the gel seat I could just put my original back on. I would like to know if the seat pans are all the same before I spend money on a pan.

I took the seat off my 20008 klr 650 tonight. It has a metal hook on the seat and a tab on the fuel tank it slides under. From the pictures I've found on the internet the older models do not have this. It looks like the seat would interchange but would not fit as tight as the 08. Anyway I think I found the answer to my question.

What gel seat are you looking at? Has anyone tried the one from Dual Star?
