Default tpi cycleparts hi output stator

have any of you installed this? does it work well? is it plug and play?

NEW!! Upgraded to 280 watts!!!

High Output Lighting Stator
High-output stator produces 280 watts of pure power. More than enough for accessories and lights. The stock stator puts out 14 volts and 14 amps (max) which equals only 196 watts @ 8000 rpm. At idle and slower speeds the average output is only about 150 watts and less. Barely enough to operate a stock KLR. The new high-output stator will furnish you with more power at slow speed than the stock stator puts out at 8000 rpm. No weak batteries after a long ride. No dim lights at slower speeds. Add our "bright white" headlight bulb and touring lights without worries. Fits up to 07.
PO2111......$159.95

Call them and ask if it the Electrex stator.

Never heard a good word about the Electrex, & lots of problematic heresay. Even Electrex stated you needed their voltage regulator to go with it.

Stock is OK for grip heaters and a 100 watt bulb, as long as one is on low while the other on hi or vice versa.

there was a recent thread on this stator that unfortunately went a little err... off track.

anyway, IIRC, the stator is plug and play... the pic on the site is just a generic pic.

and i think they aid they got it from Moose, but i could be mistaken. i don't know where Moose gets it from, or if they build it from scratch.
