Cary Aspy was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident Monday evening while on his way home from a weekend riding trip to Tennessee. His Kawasaki KLR650 was a source of pride and was used to develop many aftermarket performance enhancing products for other owners in recent years. Cary had worked for Ehlerding Cycle for 13 years before coming to Schnitz Racing in August of 1992 as the service manager, cylinder head specialist, and engine builder. He was also a neighbor to the Schnitz family for 27 years. Cary was happy to offer any advice and answer questions in detail for anyone who asked. He will be truly missed.
Funeral arrangements and information will be posted shortly. ![]() http://www.schnitzracing.com/cary_memorial.htm Anyone wishing to send a personal email for Cary's family can do so here - Condolences@schnitzracing.com Last edited by Schnitz Racing : 10-07-2008 at 12:16 PM. |

What a terrible terrible shock. He will be sorely missed. I have a 685 kit in my bike and he was a pleasure to work with and took care of the customer like no other. I remember getting the kit in the mail and being so impressed by the attention to detail. I could tell it was a special person that did it. I never met him but nevertheless felt like he was one of the great ones in the KLR community and just a special person all around.

That is sad!! I spoke with him only two or three times and he was very patient and sounded like a very nice guy. I'm sure he will be missed in the KLR community. RIP sir.

Cary will be missed for many reasons. Words aren't adequate to descibe the loss I feel. A great friend, wonderful human being, generous with his knowledge and time. What a loss........... This is horrible.
Cary, my brother, I'll miss you always.

I never got to meet or speak with him but I still feel I've lost a friend. My prayers for his family and to all those who knew him. He was truly a man to respect in what he did and what he said. We need more like him. You'll be sorely missed, Cary.

I spoke with Cary numerous times during my 703 upgrade. He possessed not only great knowledge and wisdom, but had patience beyond belief. I spoke to him again in August. I had no idea it would be the last time, in this life.
I will miss you my friend. I am so very sorry. |
