A KLR friend sent me this via email. Didn't see a recent post on this here although over the months I have seen a lot of interest from you guys on the diesel KLR.

It's been Coming Soon for years now. The projected price of around $15000 US would deter most KLR riders I would have thought.

Now how about this one? Turbo diesel with constant variable transmission. Looks like what you would get if a BMW GS and a KTM had a love child.

I saw that myself. At 100 mpg in a klr price/tank range this would be the must have motorcycle period. If they are making them at all, they should be readily available for regular guys like us too. And it's rediculous to think we will have to wait until some huge military order or whatever gets filled. The military has had em for years now I'm sure. fingers crossed price stays low

That black beauty that hoyks posted seems so far ahead of the klr version when looking at the specs. There's also a video on youtube although the video and sound quality suck. Too bad its only on sale in the Netherlands. The site says gobal sales to start next year.

They need to do something with the exhaust though, you would end up with one black boot.

I subscribed th HDT's newsletter. I have never gotten an update or any information about the diesel KLR nor will they respond to any questions about it. I don't think it will ever make it to the civilian market. Oh well, there is always the 100 mpg Hummer.
