Does anyone out there have a Renazco seat for their KLR? I just ordered one for my Green '08 daily driver KLR. I'd love to see a picture of a Renazco seat for a KLR. My seat build date is 3/1/10, so I won't have it anytime soon. The seat is flatter than the stock seat to keep you from sliding down onto your boys and then sitting on them for hours.
I ordered the Renazco +2" wider black stealth Ralleye seat w/black stitching. It cost me a bunch of coin but should save my boys and me rearend on the Iron Butt that I plan on doing in the Spring. If you have a Renazco seat please post a picture. Here's the bike it's going on! This bike is also getting a complete RICOR IAS suspension this week. SamM ![]() |

I'm surprised they don't show any on their website, unless yours happens to be the first one they are making. I'd be a bit nervous spending that much coin for a seat you have not seen and can't get for more than 4 months

I have no complaints. The stock KLR seat is very comfortable! Did I mention my other Dual Sport is a DR650?

Well, it comes down to this. My KLR is my daily driver and I'd like to be able to rack up some miles on it in comfort. Corbin looks like the only other option in a seat manufacturer for the KLR. I've owned Corbin seats before and they aren't worth the money, in my opinion. Besides the Corbin seat goes for $379 plus shipping. That's a lot of money for something that I didn't like much the first time around. The Renazco will be made to my specs, 2" wider and with the proper density foam for my weight. Renazco has made seats for the KLR before, they just didn't have any pictures in their database for some reason. They are very popular with the KTM crowd. I like my KLR and think the bike is worth putting a good seat on. If a KTM is worth putting an expensive seat on, so is my KLR. The Renazco custom seat cost me $360.25 shipped and I'll admit that's a lot of money but for a seat but it's a better choice for me than another Corbin. I guess I'm buying the seat on faith but sometimes you have to take chances.
In 4 months, I guess I'll report the outcome of my seat project. SamM |

No worries on quality there! That's a top end seat and you'll be glad you did it.
I've seen several on KTMs and the suede used is really nice. Here's a good shot from the website showing the material. ![]() TW

Tumbleweed,
Thanks for the picture. That's one of their seats with the suede top and sides. I went with the all black vinyl w/black stitching. Four months is a long wait. Had to pay the money up front in order to get a build date. Did that last week. Can't ship my stock seat to them until two weeks before the build date. They don't want a bunch of seats laying around the shop. SamM |

I'm looking for something a little more comfortable as well, but don't want to shell out really big bucks. I found another seat builder that does all of his work between the stock seat pan and the vinyl, and does it for a very reasonable price: http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php Here is what he stated when I inquired about his services: "For your KLR the usual changes are creation of a more supportive seating "pocket" so that the seat actually has some internal shape and support, instead of being strictly a flat trail type profile. This gives a more neutral position so that you don't constantly slide toward the tank. I also give it a softer frontal mid line to take pressure off of the crotch. All of my work is internal, the seat is worked completely from underneath so appears stock, please visit my web sites FAQ page for a more complete explanation of my process. Due to the surprisingly shallow foam depth in your seat ( the seat pan steps up right where it shouldn't) I strongly recommended that you add the Supracor suspension. It will allow more "form fitting" support, reduce vibration, dampen road shock, and does not break down over the course of a long day in the saddle. The Supracor works for the rider because it is a dynamic material with an instant rebound. It moves with you, working with your weight shifts for proper bike control. If you use a material in the riders section that "takes a set" it locks you in one position and fights against you. This is the main problem with foams as the rider is constantly moving, even while cruising the highway you are making small corrections in your weight distribution. This is especially important on a dual sport bike so that you can still use the whole seat instead of having only one comfortable position. Pricing would be the standard minimum of $50 for the actual work, and a $25 material charge for the Supracor. I would need you to mark (blue painters tape works well) the rearmost spot on the seat where you as the rider contacts in normal riding position. Please feel free to ship at your convenience, all that ask is that you drop me note when you do send it so that I can properly set my schedule. My current turnaround is averaging 48 hours so your only real downtime will be in shipping. If you visit my web site you can find the order form as well as my FAQ page which contains more information regarding shipping, payment, and a bunch (probably too much) general information."

That sounds like a fantastic deal and a great solution. My problem is that when the foam in my stock seat compresses, I'm already sitting in a pocket. It's uncomfortable (with the stock foam) and I'd like my seat to be a little wider.
If you go this route let us know how it works. ![]() SamM |

SamM, I can't wait to hear what you think of the Renazco. My build date is 06/21/2010. It's going on my Green 08.

Can't wait to see pics of the finished product, I have looked at their stuff before but shied away when there was no pics of a KLR seat in their gallery. Seems odd they would not have posted one if they have done the work.

Here is a pic Renazco sent me...This seat is 2 inches wider than the stock KLR seat. They offer different sizes, colors and materials. KLR yellow island, blk MG.bmp.jpg |

My somewhat stock '08 KLR seat is on it's way to Renazco. It has an '07 KLR seat cover on it but that won't matter. Can't wait to get my hands on the Renazco seat. Chris seemed to know his stuff when I contacted him and we worked out the details of the seat specs and the sale online. My seat is the Stealth version. All black with no logo. I'm very confident that the seat will work very well for what I have in store for it.
My bike is now going through another transformation. It's going back to the lighter weight off-road version that I did last year but never really finished. I'm wanting to do more off-road riding this year. SamM Here's what I have planned. ![]() |

Back on March 4th, I received my new Renazco 'Stealth' seat. Chris build this one with black stitching, flat colored material and without the Renazco logo, hence the 'Stealth' name. It looks pretty good. I hope to get the bike together enough to test fit it this week. Still waiting on my Emig Racing KLR/KX conversion stem.
Thought maybe someone would like to see it! Sorry about the bad pictures. I'll get a few better shots in a couple days. SamM ![]() ![]() |

All my recent pictures have the Renazco seat in them. It's been on the bike since March. All my miles this year have been with it. Excellent seat but it was expensive. Mine was a custom build. You'll need to tell them what you want. Here you go.

I got my Renazco seat in June and I love it. I commute 60 miles a day and have been on a couple of 350+ mile day rides with it. It is very comfortable. I like it so much better than the dished Corbin I had on it. Mine is all black like SamM's but I do have the logo stitched in gray on the seat. I got mine 1 inch wider than the stock KLR seat.
