Default pipe work on the carb

sadly i dont have any pictures of the carb to explain. on the carb above the choke there is a pipe that goes nowhere but draws in air. the last owner chopped it off about an inch from carb when i try to kick it over you can hear it suck the air in and it will not start so I blocked it up with a screw and it started but that pipe must go somewhere can anyone help with a nice picture ?

If you have the stock petcock that allows gas to run from the tank to the carb...there is 2 nipples on it, one for the gas and the second is the air operated valve that runs from that nipple on the cab to the petcock. BUT...if your petcock has been converted to a manual one or has been replaced to a manual one....just plug up the nipple on the carb and forget it....problem solved...

If your bike is an 08 your newer, it may be the hose connection for the "air pump" suppling the exhaust air injection. In the picture below (1st photo), it's the brass fitting with a short black hose and the hose is plugged at the top. Plug it!!
If it is this fitting, you should check beside the spark plug hole and see if the PO fudge this area too! The 2nd photo shows a plate with a plug in it. I made this doodad up to plug this one hole. Yea, I removed exhaust air injection...
