Default KLX 650 / KLR 650 parts interchangeability

I just bought a 1995 KLX 650C for parts, as I had heard of some interchangeability between it and a KLR 650. Turns out some of those reports, at least specifically from a Kawasaki part number standpoint, are incorrect. In other cases, I'm happy to see an occasional part I may actually salvage from the bike for myself.

See the spreadsheet below for my progress so far:
KLX 650 / KLR 650 parts equivalency

I noted in my research the lack of parts availability, so this may be useful as a quick reference for KLX owners trying to find parts. Obviously this information is freely available everywhere, but I wanted an at-a-glance view, rather than the need to pull the fiches for specific parts.

Also, note that I have a KLX I'm slowly going to start parting out. :-)

Thanks,
I used to own a KLX650 C and now I ride an 08 model KLR650.

I once tried to fit the pre 08 KLR rear indicators to my KLX650, but the leads were too short. I just managed to fit them by pulling part of the wiring harness to the rear.

The tyres are an easy swap. I removed the OEM tyres from the KLX650 C and put them on my 08 model KLR650.

The batteries are totally different.

They're not the same part numbers, can tell you that much.

My nephew has a frame, wheels, forks, swing arm, etc. from a KLX. No engine but other stuff, some plastics. Any interest in the parts? If so I will have him list up what is available and take some photos.

Thanks - Ateam
