Default Which service manual(s) do you recommend?

I'll be replacing the output shaft seal on my '91 KLR 250 and I'm needing the repair manual(s) to do it.

I've not had the best luck with the Clymer manuals for other bikes I've owned, and I've read where, if I go with the Kawasaki publications, I'll need both the KLR 650 factory manual and the KLR 250 supplemental manual as well.

Can any of y'all recommend the Clymer manual, and/or which specific factory manuals do you recommend? Do the later factory manuals apply to the '91 or do I need the KL 600 manual and 'earlier' Klr250 supplement?

My 250 has 8,000 miles showing on the odometer, and seems to have been well treated. I'm the second owner and I know the PO.

I'm equipped to do all the work -except required machining- myself, but I'm reluctant to tear into this motor until I've got the best guide book in my hands.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I've had both, the Kawasaki manual (for my ZRX) and the Clymer for my KLR.

All I can say is I think the Clymer is more "user friendly".

There is no which, just as there is no choice.

From what I was able to glean... there was no KLR 250 Clymer or Haynes.

Which means you're stuck with the 600 w/250 supplement.
