Default ride sat 8/23

been slow riding season here or something? i've been mostly on DRZ this summer, but may take out KLR tomorrow for a spin.

maybe try jones pass to see what other side looks like, saxon mnt and others in the area
maybe Democrat Mnt? (https://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=354)
other suggestions?

if no interest maybe hop back on DRZ and head for Webster pass/Radical Hill. start around 8-9am from Bo Co.

is Radical Hill too much for stock geared KLR??

ended up doing a pretty decent clip yesterday on DRZ
Radical hill would be too much for KLR, even though i've seen videos of KLR up there, it must be modified gearing i suspect. descent into breckenridge was also too steep in spots.

started up 285 to Webster pass, Radical Hill, Swan River.. lunch in Breckenridge.
then Georgia Pass via French creek, bypass Kenosha via favorite trails, then to Guanella Pass, polished it off with OMG road to Peak-to-Peak

Radical hill beat me up a bit, punched a hole in the plastic coolant overflow tank, (although that plastic gets pretty brittle after years, and people report breaking it by just tapping it with a finger). going down Guanella i noticed a bit of rattling, turns out front sprocket been worn to lose a tooth or two.. (didn't stop me from drag racing a camaro on the way home from stop light to stop light)

on one of the trails i was following an SUV that would not let me go around them for couple of minutes, even though the trail was flat and easy enough for them to slow down and give me room. i was only able to pass them when they decided to turn around. i see more and more of that on the trails and gravel roads, not mentioning your regular canyons.

fogged up video of mountain goats on Radical Hill:

before season is over i might try Mt Bross: https://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=116 anyone been there?

i'm fine thanks.. just the usual bruised ego

so to change gear ratios, it's safe to brake a tooth or three off? is that how it works?

that's how the sprocket looked after that day (it was pretty worn to begin with). replaced both sprockets and chain now. ready for more, before serious snow flies.

how's your new toy? did you take it off any sweet jumps yet?
