Exclamation Looking for a tech day? Hosting one?

Please limit on-going discussions in this thread.

If you are looking for a Rocky Mountain tech day, this is the place to ask and begin building interest.

If you are offering to host a tech day (not as hard as it seems), this is maybe the first place to start.

Once interest builds, please start a separate thread for that tech day and put a date (or at lease the month and year) in that thread's title. A good title might be "Tech day in Montrose May 2010" or something like that. That way, old tech day threads won't be misleading.

Thanks. Now, give yourself a raise and get back to work.

I'll be hosting another Colorado tech day in late August or early September. If you need something before that, try sending a PM to Kawioops or Kelly Byers or some of the other guys who help out at tech days.

I have the wrench and my own Doo kit from Eagle Mike. Could i join in and bring the tools?

I am in Lafayette, so I could hit Northglenn or other north-of-Denver zones easily enough.

Gah! I still haven't done my Doo. Bummed that I missed Sgt. Marty's tech day. My new work schedule has me starting the week on Sundays (however it will allow me to ski Thursdays and Fridays).

I keep going back and forth about doing my own Doo, or having it done when I do the 685and valves (and by that I mean having it done in a professional shop).

Any recommendations for 685 installs on the Front Range?

Good Morning Bouldergeek. My doo is in the mail and I have been looking for doo tools. Are you interested in a mini-tech day in Longmont or Laffayette to do a doo duo or would you be willing to loan your tools? BTW I have a decorative metal shop with a CNC plasma cutting table and am tolerant of other two-wheel whackos and their projects.

I'd be happy to help out and can bring all the needed tools. I'm in a school all next week (Oct 18-22), but otherwise I have a lot of free time. Set a date and location and I'll make it if it works out for me.

I'd love to join in if you all don't mind. I just picked up a lightly used 09 and really want to get this done with the torsion spring..I'm between Longmont and Frederick and able to travel. I need to order a doo and spring, but can get that done pretty quick.

Start a new thread for a tech day, rather than continue here, and put the details there. If you have an attendance limit, put that in there as well. I'll try to be there, and others with tech day experience might be able to make it as well.

I'd be happy to host a tech day in the four corners area this spring/summer if there is any interest. I have a large garage with a fridge, a motorcycle lift, the basic tools, the doo tools, and an 08'-present clymer manual. I live halfway between Mancos and Dolores just off of 184.
I've pretty much got my bike how I want it for now so I don't need to do anything, but I'd be happy to help out with anyone else. I'm not super experienced with the KLR, but I can do carb jetting, the doo, thermo-bob, and that type of stuff.
Let me know if anyone is into it.

Coloradogoose, if you set a tech day date, do post it in the regional forum. I'll try to drop down there and help out if it looks like things are happening.

Sounds good. Hopefully there will be some interest. I'll probably wait to hear if there is any interest before I set a date, but once there's a person or two we'll set it and go from there.
Thanks.

Mistakenly posted this in the Main Forum... So far it looks like Rae and I are up for it. We're both in Northern Colorado.

Hi Folks,

I'm an ex-VW mechanic but a KLR newbie and have just been getting up to speed on this fantastic forum. I live just west of Fort Collins near some fantastic jeep trails that I look forward to exploring this summer. I bought a used '96 KLR650 with 22K miles and have mostly been tightening bolts and replacing the drive train while the weather warms up. The bike seems to have been well maintained but I'd like to get started on the essential items, DooH, .22 mod, exhaust tweak...

I have a fully equipped shop and room for plenty of bikes on the concrete. I've never done it before but would like to host a tech day if there's any interest. Seems like a great way to meet some riding pardners and get our bikes up to snuff for the season. I'm open almost any weekend and spring will spring soon, damnit.

If there's anybody interested, let's put it together. Or if someone wants to do one in a more central locale to Denver/Boulder I'm up for that too.

Keep on keepin' on, Mike
