Default HELP PLEASE! Clutch remove & replace

I went to replace my clutch, and when I did it took two hands to pull the clutch level back because it was so so tight. So I took it apart and re-did the job with the same results.

I gave up and dropped it off at the local mechanic. After 4 weeks of having it he finally called me to tell me he gave up. He could not figure it out either.

I followed the Clymer Manual step by step and used the EBC clutch kit. And yes, the cable is fine, and the lever is fine. And it shifted just fine. All the specs are just right on the clutch kit too. I replaced it b/c after doing the 685 kit, the OEM clutch began to slip at high acceleration.

Monday I'm picking up the bike and dropping it off at the local Kawi shop a few miles further down the road. But I'd like to have something to say went I drop it off.

I had a similar problem with the EBC springs. They seem to be too big. I put the stock ones back in and next time will order new stock springs. Many instances documented on this forum that the springs in the ebc kit don't work too well.

Replace the springs with new oem, or heavy springs from schnitz racing, the coils on the ebc springs are too thick and bind.

that's weird 'cause when I did my clutch (many yrs ago) the springs in the EBC DRC kit were fine....... OEM ones were crazy expensive from memory......

Yep, it was the EBC springs. So I replaced them w/Barretts springs for a ZX10... Works great!
