There are counterfeits out there, so buyer beware.
$125 in a good price. I think the cheapest I found when I got mine was $134

I have been considering Pelican cases, but man they are expensive. Especially if you add in a special mounting plate.

Anybody think a Pelican 1600 would make a good top case? I need to secure my laptop bag and a few other items. I'm currently using a 50L dry bag and don't want to spend $$$ for hard panniers.

I just did 4 holes with allen bolts and washers. Has worked great so far!!

Nothing that expensive. I think that I have spent more on stainless steel hardware then the 3/4 tube steel to build the rack.

Never heard of counterfeits before but Caseclub is an authorized dealer, according to Pelican's website, so $95 seems to be a very good deal: https://www.pelican.com/dealer_locato...hernCalifornia

I have the 1560. It's 2 inches deeper than the 1600 and 1" smaller.

Doesn't that one have wheels? If so, did you just leave them on? Also, how did you mount the case?

The wheels and handle are bolted on.

There are two handles on the case. I've used both to pick the pig up.

I used all 8 bolts on my V1 luggage rack. You might want to just use the rack bolts and not the two in the middle that mount to the sub frame.

If you can wait a couple days, I have a write up on how I mounted it. I'm in the process of getting my website back up.

They actually have saved me money when my bike was sliding down the road. The Pelicans took the beating and still work fine. Bike had no damage. In the case world the old "you get what you pay for" adage applies.

Buy a couple OEM turn signals and they will start looking pretty cheap. My 1560 protects them. I have not lost a single one in a countless number of biffs.

I was planning on using them with a Packrat Rack. How hard are the cases to install on the rack? I'm assuming I'll need to drill holes in the cases to attach them to any rack I get. Are the cases easy to remove from the racks when you do not need them?

I like the Packrat rack because I don't need to move the rear turn signals like you have to on some others I saw. Also, the rack will protect the bike even if the cases are not on it.

Caseclub seems to have the best prices on them, but has anyone used them here? Are they good to deal with, or are they a pain?

The pelicans and a rack is the cheapest of the hardcase solutions I've found (except for the ammo can approach). Try pricing a couple of Givis or some of the aluminum pannier systems out there. I'm sure those are great systems, but they are about $800 and several hours to install.

The Pelicans on a Packrat are about $475.

Just 4 bolts to remove each case unless you build a bottom bracket, then it's only 2 per.

I made my rack, borrowing ideas from the packrat -no shipping to Canada. Great set up, have yet to take the cases off.

Try boss-safety.com

No, I don't know anything about a Seahouse. Is it a pelican knockoff? I have purchased with caseclub before and I thought they were great. Called me with a question on my order. They went out the same day.

They look like a equal competitor to Pelican rather than a knockoff I quess. Caseclub is 15 miles from where I live goin try to go there monday see if I can compare both type of cases, will let ya know.
