Default Just thinking about it - need advice

Hi all

As I approach my 61st birthday I have been considering selling my KLR and purchased a more roadworthy (less dirt oriented) bike. Actually thinking about selling a lot of my bikes and trailer. I like to still ride off road but much tamer trails etc. than I have in the past. I am not sure what my KLR would be worth and am wondering if you guys could give me some advice as to what to ask for it. It has a ton of accessories. Any feedback would be appreciated. No pics yet but the bike is well kept, runs perfectly and would ride it anywhere.

Thanks all!

Here is a list of how it is equipped:

Why not just change F/R sprockets to a more highway-oriented combo and keep the KLR, given all of your farkles?

That is well sorted out bike for sure ,But a parallel or V twin would run circles around the KLR on the road .So much more power and smooth ,I say go for it..I sold my beloved KLR I had for 8 years and well farkled like yours ,I realized that after 8 years that I'm probably not going to be doing what I thought with the bike and bought a KLX 250sf with knobs on it to scratch that itch and currently looking at a Versys..As far as what your bike is worth I think you might be better off taking most of the goodies off and selling them independently ..

Give it away to a member for 3grand or you can just dream about getting 5grand...

It's definitely worth it, but riding season is over and Craigslist has bikes going for 4-5 grand all day long....

Just my thoughts...

It all depends on the supply and demand in your local area. Here in LA (Lower Alabama) the base bike is worth maybe $2,700. Then I think you can assume 25-50% value for the accessories. Like Don said, you are probably better to sell all the farkles separately.

Here in Central Orygun, that bike would sell for $3,500 give or take $250.

Farkles donít hold their value and itís the end of riding season.

Yes I have been thinking it is a bit late in the season to sell it. I am in no hurry so I could wait. I was hoping I could get around $4K for it. I forgot to ad that I also have a LeoVinci exhaust and FMF Powerbomb header on it. Here in California we can ride all year so maybe someone would buy it. Anyway - I think I'll think on it a bit.

Thanks all

Dan

Yes it is that LeoVince exhaust. Not quite ready to let it go as I need to sell my bike trailer first. I need something to ride until then. I will let you know when I'm ready. I appreciate it.
