Default 685 job in Calgary..

Hello All.

In Calgary and need to do the 658 now before she gets warm out. Looking at Universal to do the complete job however the price is steep in my opinion. Not questioning the quality of work, just wondering if I should do the wyman winn option.

Any suggestions?

You can try contacting Wyman, but he's taken a step back from providing BB kits. Eagle Mike will be your 685 kit go-to man.

Ship him your jug and your cash, he'll ship you a bored out cylinder with matching piston etc...

I havenít dealt with Eagle Mike or Wyman (Yet) but you donít have to read to many post to see they are stand up guys and well respected on this site.
I did the 685 mod through Universal and was very happy with the results.
If I remember right the kit was 385, the rebore was 110.
Which ever way you go, donít forget to factor in Canadian vs US dollars and shipping (not sure if you would also pay duty and gst on top, youíll have to look into that)
Best mod Iíve done.
cheers

My total cost on the 685 was under 500 as I did the labour myself.
you may have some added expenses as you will be checking / adjusting your valves while your in there, oil change and other general maintenance.

I believe I remember Wyman doing one somewhere around six hours. That's comparing Superman to the rest of us mortals though..

Took me about 10 hours or so over two days with a second set of hands...

So I guess you could say between 6 and 10 hours... with one to two people..
