Took a ride into the woods around McMinnville and Carlton, Oregon. I ended up picking up a 2" nail the minute I got back to pavement! My photography skills were obviously impaired by the cold rain, now that I look back at this.

New to the forum. Bought a 2008 off of Craigslist and could not be happier! 127 miles today riding around Southern California. This picture is just south of Lake Elsinore along the 74.

Did you stop at the base and get your KLR upgraded to run on antigravity and dark matter? Well at least I hope you guys weren't kid napped by aliens....

Haha...we thought about exploring the dirt roads that run off into the desert, but the thought of coming over a hill to a rifle in our faces kept us on the more main roads. That and the Tonopah-Rachel-Caliente run is about 200 miles between gas stations, so we were concerned about detouring too much....
The tempiute mine area was a fun little detour though, and in the same direction so it doesn't really cost extra gas....

First ride of the year in the balmy 45 degree weather in Western NY! Hope the weather stays reasonable, I've been itching to ride all winter.

We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground here. But it is 43.

Great pictures but please tell me what trick you used to shift with those heavy boots on? Did you buy an aftermarket lever? or just move the factory one?

Tusk makes a nice aftermarket shifting lever. It's a bit longer than the stock one, much lighter too. I installed it and changed the angle a bit so that my motocross boots can get under it easily for shifting.

A local ride pic from the Mohawk Dam area in Central Ohio. Lots of great gravel roads in the area, and great scenery.

Sorry I just gotta ask; what kinda sandwich did you ride over? Ham, bologna, turkey, pastrami, PBJ?
Did it stick to your tire?

"NOTCH'S" What else would it be? ( Sorry, I didn't have any input in naming it. )
In fact, I did pick up some brown "notch" in some of the muddy places.

Some pics from two days at Dragoo Adventure Rider Training in Norman, OK. Great class and was really impressed with my new KLR and what she could do. There was lots of time spent on slow speed bike handling exercises, but those don't make very dramatic photos. Wish they had caught my 20' ride down a telephone poll though - that was cool.

That's great training. After going through that class, you should be ready for most any normal stuff. ( South American jungles excepted. )
Good going!
