Anyone other than Todd and I for a Sunday - day ride?

Maybe meet up somewhere 930-10:00 a.m., ?

No destination, just point it somewhere?

I'll be gone till late Saturday night, but will check in when I get home. Work it out amongst yourselves!

If you are going north I can be in for a few hours. I have to work Sunday nite. Maybe meet at the Mcdonalds in Princeton again. (I think it was Princeton)

I am going to try to make it tomorrow. Something came up tonight that I need to check on in the morning (son's car). Have to see how it goes. Also I need to be back 3-4pm. So might be a short ride for me.

Hey Todd (and others...) you missed a good ride.

The "Mcdonald Peg Draggers" left Princeton mid morning. We cut cross country on quiet blacktop to Foley, Minn. We progressed north to Pierz, on to Brainerd and to Crosby-Ironton.

We held our second annual meeting at the Black Dog Bar north of Crosby.

The special was a pulled pork sandwich on a bun, I opted for tater tots.

It was delish. The also have some unique dezerts, OMG, a chocalate peanut butter cake that was served warm. Again, it was top notch.

It will make a great destination another time-
gotta try thier home smoke ribs next time!

Couple map screen shots from Spot2 tracker. Also map close ups in case anyone wants to go the the Black Dog sometime- worth the ride, nice and cozy.

Todd, in your absence, we had a vote. YOU are in charge of designing a logo for the Peg Draggers.

Good luck, I can't even draw stickmen. Tag, you are it dude!

We will make this run again, or a variation where we end up at the Black Dog.

Anyone is welcome. We went with two 2009 KLR's and Ron braught his first generation KLR.

We came back through Aitkin, Malmo, Isle, Waukon, Milaca, etc. All good.

Sounds like a great time! Sorry I missed it. Ended up underneath a car all day working on exhaust and brakes.

Design a logo, me?? I can give it a try. Is that really the name...Mcdonalds.... please!!

Here are some suggestions, or feel free to create something different:

Mc-KLR Peg Draggers
Minnesota KLR Peg Draggers
Mc-KLR Riders
Minnesota KLR Riders
Minnesota KLR No-Treads (since 2 of us started with bald tires)

My wife says Minnesota KLR Old Farts. I told her we are all young yet (or at least young in our minds).

Gotta make it next time Sir.

"Peg Draggers" does not seem to be taken.

I picture a twisted throttle like logo, a bike on edge with sparks coming off the peg...

I was just pulling yer tit, but if you can draw, you the man or morph somethin, your the man.

Yes, Minn. Old farts a possiblity, but.....

I knew you were pulling my leg.....errrr.....tit.

We probably need more than 2 rides to put a logo and name together anyway.

Default Re: Minnesota or Upper Midwest (5 states?)

Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Place: Princeton, Minnesota McDonald's (Hwy 169, first Princeton exit if you are coming from the south...)

Subject: The "Peg Draggers", a loose group of misfit adventure riders will gather at the Princeton, McDonald's. We meet around 10:00 a.m., typically stand around with an egg Mc something in our mouth and yak for half an hour or so and wait for stragglers (Gary!)

Thus far, our group is small, about six of us. We need more talent!

We pick a "general" direction or destination. Someone suggests a known place to stop a couple hours later to have lunch, normally early afternoon by the time we get there. We eat someplace unique if we can, sit and visit, tell tall tales and then get back on the road, to somewhere. Some people head home after the lunch stop. Some others ride till almost dark. Some peel off along the way home.

No boundaries, no plans.

We typically are a Kawasaki KLR 650 dual sport bunch. But please do not hold that against us.

Like a pig wearing lipstick, we are most proud of our rides.

Everyone welcome, dispite what you might ride. We have done some gravel and off road, although not a requirement.

It's mostly a blacktop and backroads tour. We have put between 200 and 330 miles on during these Sunday day trips. As we mostly have one cylinder bikes, the speeds are moderate and we avoid freeways.

No charge.

Good ride yesterday. Beautiful day. Sorry I had to take off early, but I checked my watch and figured I better head South.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Great day, indeed.

The last of us hung out in Waukon for an hour or so, solving the world's problems.

The world should be a better place today, based on our motorbike politics.

Gary and I got home around 6:30 last night.

Working on some pics!

Couple pics from the Sunday "Peg Draggers" riding group.

We had some guest riders that introduced us to the KLR's step cousin, the Concours?

Great guys, great bikes.

Wow, they got TWO CYLINDERS EACH and stuff....

We took the long way back to the Black Dog Bar near Crosby.

Politics, motorcycles and other world problems discussed over great chow.

Our political leader opened the meeting with discussion of fries or TATER TOTS....

Our Sargent-at-Arms went with the fries.

The meeting heated up.

WHO will be ordering DESERT then?

I was still working on the Cajun surprise. Yum!

Tater tots.... and a 'shroom burger.

That nasty chocolate peanut butter cake with ice cream and whipped topping.

It's really awful.

My second experience with it.

Somewhere along the quiet route from Crosby towards Aitkin. A bit of fall color in the mirror along with chums on bikes.

A great bit of roads between the bar and our next rest stop. Totally quiet, even on a Sunday late afternoon. A Peg Draggers exclusive secret road towards home.

Touring some farm country.

Last rest stop, Waukon, Minn.

A great place to stretch the legs, admire the old "Ellen Ruth", a 40+ foot wooden yacht that used to cruise with people on Mille Lacs.

Trying to crack into southbound traffic on 169, Sunday night.

It flowed really well once we got on.

A final gas stop, back in Princeton where we blasted off from.

Hate to see the day end.

Thanks to the two guests on the bigger Kawi twin cylinders for attending. You blokes fit in well, you are welcome anytime- bring some pals.

Anyone up for a ride again this coming Sunday- sounds like the weather may still be fair.

Someone pick a destination, count me in to participate.

I will be out of town a couple days, but will try to check in at least once before Saturday night if someone makes a game plan....
