I'll have a modified Mikuni carb kit on hand if anyone might be interested in seeing it. The kit is an easy swap for the stock carb, throttle and cable.

I've been wanting a 685 kit installed since hearing SgtMarty & Laurie talk of it's performance at the last tech day. Hmm.

A 685 kit would be a bit much for a tech day, since it takes a while and needs constant attention. If you want to do the kit, maybe we can schedule a separate time.

As you've proven over and over you're a generous fella SgtMarty. Thank you for the offer. I'm thinking of going bigger now. I saw last night that EagleMike has a 719 and is working on a 762.

I also just realized that your tech day is the weekend of Pop's 87th birthday and Mother's Day so I'm not gonna be able to make it.

Sweet!

I thought I would be in Georgia by now, but will still be here for this. I can get some fresh ears on that irritating "tick-tap" and maybe get my progressive springs and stainless brake lines done before heading to Atlanta.

Did I mention, "" ?

I should be in for this and I have some items on my Dino bucket list that I want to get an idea of if these are reasonable for the tech day. Also, I will be coming down from Longmont if anyone want to bikeavan again.
1. F/R Brake service i..e flush, pads, lines
2. Thermobob
3. Tire change out. I am thinking of flipping my front 244 to reverse the cupping and would like to get some opinions on whether my rear with 6k on it would last another 2-3K including the dino run. If not, replace my rear
4. Replace my clutch and front brake levers
Are these things reasonable for a tech day or is it too much?
Thanks,
Asa
Sgt. Marty,
At DB's tech day, I think you had some fancy tire iron/wheel wrench combo that I wanted to get the make on. I found some Motion-pro's, but they looked different. Could you post up what those were?
Thanks

All those tasks are doable for the tech day. I don't remember what tools might have been out of my bags, so you'll have to check them out when you get here.

Neither Mom or Pop can walk so well anymore, and they certainly can't handle the Colorado altitude SgtMarty. Otherwise I'd be there with them, a spread of Big Daddy's green chile bagels, Guinness and Bass Ale. Guess some one else will have to carry the Guinness torch for me

You'll have to ask Fred about the hoses. They are either from him or from Mikuni.

Supposedly the Mikuni carb dramatically improves throttle response and simplicity.

I would like to do a front brake pad swap and install a stainless steel front brake line. I can do most of the work myself, but I would like someone to walk me thru bleeding the brakes. I just ordered the line from Eagle Mike, so this is all contingent on the parts showing up in time. Thanks.

No problem with your task list, Hammer09. I have some brake fluid on hand, but best to bring a new bottle when bleeding the line.
