Well, I really wanted to bring a surprise to the Tech day for Marty but I'm going home for the weekend to be with my family.

I purchased 2 18x26 ss sheet pans for the tech days. They are perfect oil drip pans for protecting the driveway. They will stay with the donated tools.

I'm going to leave them out back my apartment near 26th and Sheridan . 2 blocks from Sloan Lake.

I think one could carry down on the KLR. I'm hoping someone can call me and pick them up for Marty and bring them down.

Sorry I can't make it. It's been too long not seeing my kids.

My cell is 303$551&5497

Mule,

Bobby M

How late in the day to you expect this to go?

I'm already committed to all Saturday's to mid June but would love to listen and ask stupid questions with you guys. I'm a total FNG.

Thanks for the thought, Bobby. I appreciate the sharing attitude. If they find their way here, they will get used.

We will have chips and salsa, sodas, some beer, some mini cinnamon buns and will throw pizza in the oven around lunchtime.

We will move the bikes and sweep out the garage at 9, hot water will be ready then.

I was just apprised of this thread - I'd recommend printing instructions. There are specific dimensions listed, clamp orientations, and volume of coolant posted for a reason - it makes it easier to know you've done it right and not put it in the wrong place or have a big air bubble in the system.

Hope you all have a great tech day!

Bill

We did have a great tech day. No catastrophes, everything got done.

SnowMule helped me with the 525exc, others helped others with various projects. All the bikes got ridden away, so that's a good sign.

Photos later.

Thanks for all the help from everyone and the hospitality from Marty and Laurie!
My thighs are sore from the up and down squats all day long.

I would also like to thank everyone!
Just starting out in motorcycles in general, to me the Doohickey install was equivalent to open heart surgery on the bike.

With all the help things went smoothly, even with the occasional excitement.
The value of the real world experience cannot be expressed.

And thanks to our hosts! Too bad my wife could not attend, as she would have enjoyed all the information Laurie had to share.

This was fun ... we'll do it again in the fall

Thanks to everybody that came and helped
... and those who brought the goodies (yum!)
... and those who pointed and laughed

Too bad we didn't get video of the KTM doing its circle burn in the driveway

Getting Asatrur's bike ready for the Dinosaur Run.

A steady but not hectic day.

SnowMule Mike helped show me some things with the new (to me) 525EXC.

My KTM got some brake and carb work, too.

How many people to change a tire? And how many times to get it right?

Doing the doohickey.

Subframe drill-through bolt upgrade.

Not as large a turnout as usual, but several bikes got worked on.

At the end, some of us just hung out and chatted.

Wow, looks like I really missed out on a good day. When I'm done with my bicycle riding/charity work in June I'll be clear to do this type of thing. I would have loved to just watched everyone and try to not bother everyone with questions.

At least I got out for a ride today. Dumped it for the first time, at least it was in the snow.

We typically do one of these in Aprl or May and another one in September, so maybe you can make that one.
If you come, and you have questions - ask 'em. Nobody minds, as long as you listen to the answers :-

For those of you that were hanging out at the end of the day -

I found the comedians I was trying to describe on Youtube. (You can find anything on the Internet!)

-Larry Miller, Five Stages of Drinking
-Mark McCullom, Ozzy Fudd (Kill da wabbit) plus Popeye Song plus Teenage Wasteland
Both of these guys were on the 1988 Showtime special "Funnymen: Triple Clowns of Comedy" (show is posted on YouTube in 8 segments)

-Bob Nelson, football skit - the one at Dangerfields is not exactly PC, but the best version I found. (This is the one that had Marty ROFL by the end of it.) Link follows:
Bob Nelson .. football skit - YouTube

Enjoy!

Edit - well, I guess when I insert a link it shows up as the video it's linking to - didn't know that - if the video won't run for you, just search on "Bob Nelson football skit" and you'll find it

I can listen, it's the comprehending part that I'll have issues with! I'm totally new to motorcycles, it has its own set of verbage that I'm learning as fast as I can.

Either way I'm having a ball learning and getting out on rides. I went to Nederland and Caribou Rd today.
