Regarding parents who have had children in school paying an additional 3 years after their child graduates, that's not socialism.
They chose it, they benefited and that's the cost of keeping that system going, so they pay for it. You wouldn't. Under socialism you do, which is why everyone over pays for school fees even if they never had children.

As much as you would like to call it socialism it would NOT be. Those people have a choice and aren't forced to be a part of that system and can withdraw. In socialist countries YOU DO-NOT HAVE A CHOICE.
What we have now more closely resembles socialism than what I proposed, but a 50 million dollar building will not help a student learn any better than a 1 million dollar building and local tax payers should not be forced to pay for their excessive budgets if they don't have kids. Anyone who has a problem will these statements needs to first look at some budgets to learn how much they are GIVEN.
You pay out the ass and your child gets an education equivalent to some third-world countries.. congratulations.

8bit, socialism is not the answer.
Free and open systems are, systems people choose rather than socialist/oligarchic style rulers who make you pay and pay for extra services non-essential to the function of government from which you do-not benefit.

Dan Diego, automatically against/for something?
I do-not know much about John Oliver or his positions, but this issue is very clear cut regardless of your views or his.
I don't follow his show and am unaware or any anti-American views that he's expressed, can you point me to the anti-American hate speech so that I can see it for myself?
Even if you don't like him he expressed the message effectively ans that was the point. I'm not endorsing every opinion the dude has ever made.

I looked for any other points of view on NN from sources I respect; I could find none. But I found butt-loads of stuff from John Oliver against stuff I believe in. So there's that. The spokesman against NN is no good, IMHO.

But I'll agree that socialism ain't the answer.

Maybe people from your tribe and his tribe can now get along.
Dan, you don't need someone to tell you what stance to take, you are aware of it now and that was the point; go read the laws and you'll know the protections you are losing.

Don't take my word for it either.
Read it for yourself instead of relying on a mouthpiece in a video or a republican mouthpiece who may oppose the first mouthpiece to fully make up your mind.
We are talking a shill game, brother, formulate your own opinion.

I'm talking small letter s, socialism, synonym; welfarism. Not the full blown Socialism: theory of social organization.

I remember, not too long ago, a big kerfuffle in the news. Seems a temporary tax was set to expire, and educators were up in arms.

There were news stories crying about how the system would suffer if that partial cent sales tax were not renewed.

I almost bought into it.

Until I saw the front page of the newspaper one day.

It was the same story, but there was something new... a picture of kindergartners sitting on the floor of their class...

With ipads.

Yes. ipads.

I cannot afford to buy an ipad, yet the impoverished school system, who will go under if this partial cent sales tax expires, is providing small children with hundreds of dollars worth of fragile technology to "learn" from.

The education system is just like everything government. Gimme more because I can't properly manage what I have... it's too hard...

There was a website, I'll post a link, where a guy tells of a dystopian future, after the ozone was stripped away by nuclear war, and the governments have basically fallen to the megacorps.

It's a good listen. I re-visit the site from time to time, listen to the stories again, and wish he had finished them...

Start with Season 1, Stream jack.

Tales from the Afternow

Light your candles, and may Server protect us all.

But the thing is, it's a non-issue. Except to people like ....well....

Dan, Noone has been rude to you, please don't post anymore jackass responses. I'm disappointed in your demeanor.
You identify as a republican, if you actually supported conservative ideology you would not support the lack of regard for what are God given rights, affirmed by this nations laws.

Freedom is not granted to you by the government, however it has a duty to guarantee it and protect it (federal).
You suggest to have little idea of how this will affect you in the future.

Republicans supported it down the line because most are paid off and lack the intestinal fortitude to make the right decision if it means going against the grain.
In fact, Republicans are paid LESS money than democrats by cable and ISP lobbies yet they supported this oppressive measure down the line. That, in FACT (dollars and cents) proves the republicans were the cheaper of the two prostitutes on this issue.
It would be laughable if it were not an unfortunate loss of protections specifically in place for the people.

Dan, as you know there are few conservatives in government, the majority doesn't care about you. They inadequately represent their constituents who themselves often times don't take the time to learn.

It's a non issue only to the oblivious until they are affected, then it becomes an issue 5 years behind the curve.
Let's talk 5 years from today, this concludes your forecast.
But, you know it all, so it's a non-issue.

You're not fooling me Dan, get out of the closet and take off that sheeps skin. I know you love your country, don't be bashful.

PS.
Some FACTS:
Trump referred to Net Neutrality as "The fairness doctrine of the Internet."
He fully supported it before election, then appointed a lawyer to the head of FCC who wants to destroy it.

Complete 180, fact.

I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories. But, like others, I have an opinion...an opinion you apparently don't care for.

And that's fine.

Let's chat in 5 years and compare lifestyles.

Apparently, the mortgage industry I was involved in was completely different than the one you described as an example.

Dan, this is in fact a matter pertaining to LAWS that were already established and in effect, laws which are being repealed. Those laws offered protections to you as an individual and as a consumer, this is not an opinion or conjecture. Laws that supported what I believe is your right as a consumer to do business with the company of your choice.
There's no need to be provocative, that's a serious misuse of aggression.

Read the law, it was all legally binding, not a theory as you incorrectly state.
As for your claim that I disagree with your opinion, you've yet to articulate one, so it's still unclear what you believe and whether I would agree or disagree with you.
I'll gladly hear you out if you'd like to share your opinion.
