Default Complete listing of frame/swingarm bearing and seal numbers

Ok, so over the course of the last couple of months I've had to go through MANY threads, links to other websites, etc. to find the bearing and seal numbers I wanted, so I could order everything from the bearing supply house before I took everything apart.

I didn't have much luck finding a comprehensive list in ONE place. So, after dismantling my KLR and purchasing a press today to properly get all of the bearings out in one piece, I took the time to note part numbers for the bearings AND seals for everything.

The wheel bearing numbers come from the boxes with new bearings I have already purchased. Everything else comes from the bearings and seals IN the bike as I pulled them out this evening.

Hope this information is helpful to at least a few people!

Front wheel bearings
1 ea Left side: Koyo 62022RDCS3
1 ea Right side: Koyo 62032RDCS3

Rear wheel bearings
1 ea Disc side: 62042RSC3
1 ea Sprocket side: 60032RSC3GXM
1 ea Sprocket carrier: 60042RSC3GXM

Steering stem bearings

1 ea Lower seal: Koyo CR XMHE 36-52-4J

1 ea Upper bearing: Koyo Hi-Cap 32005JR
(the upper seal had no numbers on it - may be a Kawi only item?)

Swingarm
2 ea Frame pivot bearing: Koyo BM2026
4 ea Frame pivot bearing seal: Koyo CR MHA 20-27-5.7F

2 ea Shock mount bearing: Koyo BM2026
2 ea Shock mount bearing seal: Koyo CR MHA 20-27-5.7F

Rear Suspension Link

Excellent, great info, now in 1 place.

I too had issues getting the steering head bearing seals. Ended up going with OEM for both. Just make sure the bottom bearing is seal free. Some come with a seal (it won't work in our application)

Could one of they-who-must-be-obeyed (moderator for short), consider stickying this, or adding it to Procedures & How-To's? This info is valuable, and I *hate* seeing useful information, only having to go trawling for it a couple months later...
And many thanks to G-Rex!!

Thanks guys! Glad y'all appreciate the effort. There are a couple of slight revisions I would like to make to the list if it is stickied.

Koyo needs to be added to the rear wheel bearings, as I forgot to include that.

Also, my bike is a '98. So, this list should be good for the '07 and down bikes. Don't know 'bout '08 and up.

Good list, but the swingarm bearings are dealer-only. I had two different oil-field bearing supply companies try to find them, both by number and size, with no luck.

Oh, wait...an old thread HERE says AllBalls sells them.

KOYO is only the Brand. No need for it unless no other manufacturer makes them.

I do know that Koyo is the brand. I just wanted to clarify since the guys who do cross-referencing like to know what brand they are cross-referencing.

Thanks! Copied into Notepad and saved into my KLR650 data! Ah McMaster-Carr, a great place to get almost anything, but you pay for it.

FYI a setup tricks for wheel bearings that can help make them last the life of the bike.

Remove the wheels, the retaining rings on one side, and take a tiny screwdriver and pop the rubber seals off the bearings. Use compressed air to blow out the factory grease (unless completely virgin). Supplement with a solvent if the bearing grease is soiled as well as old. Repack the bearings completely full of grease. No air. With solid greasing there's no air to allow water (I love pressure washers) or gritty mud to sneak into the (former) air spaces.

Bearing factories have essentially one grease 'setting' - incomplete fill to cover high RPM applications. Our bearings don't rotate fast enough to have full packing be an issue. Full packing is great insurance toward lifetime bearings, and saving money long term.

But you all probably know all this already....

I have found all the needed KLR650 bearings in kit form from www.allbassracing.com.

I've done a few head-stocks, wheel bearings, and have on hand the swing-arm set that I will change-out in a few weeks while changing the rear shock/spring.

:-)

I think the correct link would be https://www.allballsracing.com/. Rocky Mountain ATV also sells kits of the same brand.
Thanks, G-rex, for the great resource!

What brand of bearings come in the allballs kit or any other kit for that matter?
