I installed the upgraded subframe bolts, and another set of grips. The ones I just installed a week or so ago didn't do it for me, so off they came! I'm trying out the el-cheapo foam grips. I know I used to like them a lot, way back in the day...

Took her out riding in the dirt, stalled her on an incline, tipped her over, got her back up, rode her home and gave her a bath.
Me and her got some scratches and that's about it.

That was a good ride

Have you installed crash bars yet? I haven't seen any in your pics. Hope there wasn't any damage to your fairings, even a stop light drop can crack those things. Ride safe!

Crash bars only on the rear.. none for the front yet.
Luckily it tipped over at slow speed and hit soft dirt... only some small scratches on the fairing... character lines is what I call em

Just rode home from the Dragoo Adventure Rider class in Norman, OK - almost 400 miles.

The last two days I have been in the class learning to ride her correctly in dirt (at least beginning level), and techniques for hills, hill fails, hill starts, sand, side slopes, crossing barriers like telephone polls and even rode 20' along the top of a telephone pole! Practiced skid sliding down hill into a turn then turning back uphill. Crazy stuff I have never done. Then rode some motocross burm trails to finish it out. Great stuff, and Bill Dragoo's class is highly recommended. Even though he is a BMW guy, he has owned KLRs and likes them.

Have been working on my 2014.5 4800 miles . It all started ,when the bike developed a high idle when warmed up. Pulled the carb cleaned the pilot jet installed a adjustable air screw. couldn't get it to tune so had to take it back apart .and found the pilot jet had partial blockage .I didn't see the first time.
Today while the bike is apart I decided to check valves. intake side .. clutch side intake valve is out of spec .004in is a no go. other side is @ .005in . ex shims are both at .008in .So shell be down atleast for a couple more days .

I got it to start! Goofed with it yesterday, then found while it would spin over, it wouldn't start and run. ARGH!
Long story short, while doing other things, I managed to dislodge the vacuum line from the petcock. Hooked it up, bumped her over, and she's all better. If all of life's challenges were so simple.
