Default My first video trip using my...........

GoPro Hero2 camera mounted on my "open-face" chin bar mount.

I made this mount last winter, and gave it a preliminary test back then...
https://https://www.youtube.com/watc...VEpQro54&t=68s

Later I added a microphone to it. ( Still snow on the ground, so no on bike test.)
https://https://www.youtube.com/watc...Psq-AY0Y&t=97s

I finally got a chance to give it a real life test on a trip around home.
This is with camera, and the microphone.

I give up!!! I can't get my video link to show.

The link (inside the quote marks)

Now this is just crazy. If I put quote marks in, the link works.
Maybe someone can explain to me what's going on.

Great video. My old stomping grounds in the day. I remember the Mud runs they used to have out in Weare. Good tunes especially at 15:52 not sure who that was? I'll have to ride that area soon, Thanks.

If you do, give me a shout, and I'll give you a guided tour around.
The tune is.. "The Railroad by Goodnight Texas"

Where are you located in the Lakes Region? I was just up that way yesterday. Rode up to Campton, and around North side of Plymouth, and top side of Stinson Lake.
Found some nice dead ends to explore. ( Cook hill road, just NE of Bald Mtn. )
& ( Site of burned out Armont Inn, on Ellsworth Rd.)
Squeezed by power line workers, clearing brush, and blocking road, with just enough room to get my KLR by.

I'm in Sanbornton, great back roads & class 6 in this town check your maps. I was out Campton way two weeks ago, Perch Pond Rd. Sandwich Notch. Rode some good trails in Hill last week, a little more mud then expected, but I could get around it. I use the NH gazetteer but a lot of the trails shown are posted dead end even when not. I like to go to the other end and come back out of the "Dead End". People who live on these dead ends are very territorial of the "Right of way" that crosses their land. Probably bad experiences with 4 wheel drives. Got to one in Canterbury that had a sign "Caution fire arms in use". I was Not impressed. Makes me feel like I have to carry in the woods

Cooch

I rode Sandwich Notch back in the spring. Video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LP4BGHD-0Y

I did the Perch Pond road in that ride too. Liked the Bump Covered bridge up at North end of road.

My GPS shows some dead ends, but if I look carefully, there's another road dead ending just beyond the on I'm on. That's my clue that it goes right through, but could be rough going. I don't take my KLR where I can't turn it around easily. I don't do mud if I can help it. ( An agreement I have with my KLR! She won't take unexpected naps, and I won't make her do mud.)

I've made some dogs, day, when coming out "the other end" of abandoned roads.
They always bark, but I'll stop and talk to them. Sometimes I can even pet them before going on my way.

The more I ride the KLR the more I want to keep it on Dirt, its great on paved back roads, but since I got Cogent it totally changed the way it handles rough stuff. Just tractor along in first over terrain I wouldn't expect this bike to handle when I first got it. The Heidenau Tires make a big difference, the skid plate got replaced with a JNS. I've got a few other places you might know but would rather not post online.
I also don't like Mud, I've turned around in places to be sure I don't get swamped. Usually I ride alone(nobody my age wants to follow me)or with my wife 2up. Hope
to ride more with my son when we work the bug out of his used KLR he just got.

Feel free to e-mail me with those suggestions. I'm always looking for new places to ride.

I know what you mean. I used to ride with a bunch of guys my age. Got bored just tooling along on paved/numbered roads for mile after mile. I usually ride alone now.
I can pick my roads, when to stop and take a pix, or just admire a scene. I'm 78, and still go out of my way to find dirt roads. Guys my age go into the shakes if you mention dirt, and their bike in same sentence. I do admit I'm more careful on my KLR. I take my little NX250 into tighter places.
