Default Montana

Dudes,

I've unexpectedly been transported to KLR nirvana: Helena, Montana.

I'm now surrounded by mountains with dirt roads and presumably trails. I moved up from Florida 3 weeks ago. Of course I'm snowed in right now and my driveway and street are iced up, but I'm already planning on what to do when spring comes. Can anyone who lives in this region recommend a particular moto shop/mechanic and some great places to ride???

Sincerely,
Just Ed...

Lucky you. I have lived in Helena and a few other MT towns and you are in a good place. Just get a map (or not) and head to all points of the compass. Any where west towards the Continental divide is a good choice. Canyon Ferry/Townsend to the east are great to. Pick a mountain range and explore. My folks still still there so I get to head up there once in a while. Repair, I have had good service at Helena Cycle and MT Motorsports as well, Enjoy

You could probably pick any random direction and it would be a great ride in Montana. I'd be eyeballing Flathead and Glacier. It appears to be paved now, but the Going-To-The-Sun Road still seems quite spectacular.
