OTHERWISE--I will plan on doing another tech day in a week or two.

This storm came in with evil intentions, and it really zonked us down here.

Please be extra careful if you ride down tomorrow. There will be slushy spots and sand on the roads. Also, the deer are on the roads a bit more at times like these.

If tomorrow is convenient, come on down. If not, plan on making it another time--probably in two weeks.

Hey, I got my space heater to work, so that's one nice thing. My propane bottle is almost empty, though. Anyone got a spare setting around?
Yep. I have several bottles for hunting camp, I'll bring one if this goes down. I can still show, I have no other plans for Saturday.
At this time, I'm still planning on the taking the Jeep.

Well, the forecast has improved... slightly. Dashek, don't count on my meeting you so early tomorrow. I may give it a try a little later. I would like to make it down if I can, the chances of me getting another weekend day off of work soon is pretty slim.

I'll just wait and see how the weather turns out, who knows, maybe the weather men will get it wrong.

Well sounds like you got a lot more snow in your area than I did. The roads are clear as are the skies atm. Will see what the morning brings, just may have to get a later start than originally planned.

I will post up intentions as soon as I see what daylight brings.

Improved?!?! well, I don't wish to be a naysayer, but NOAA pinpoint of Perry Park is calling for snow through the night and into the morning with 3-7 possible by then.(as of 9 pm our time) A high of 48 will melt fast, but what will the road conditions be?
I'll check in the AM and go from there. Still planning on it, unless Marty cancels. Someone got a bike I can break?

The forecast is for more snow Saturday morning, so I understand if anyone bails out. We'll do it again in a couple weeks (Laurie is gone next weekend).

For those who still want to show up, no problem. A later start might be a good idea, since it should be chilly and maybe still snowing in the AM.

I'll be working on Laurie's bike, doing minor adjustments and swapping out her handlebars. Gotta un-bend her highway pegs and put on the hard bags she just bought, too.

Screwy weather...

Kawioops has volunteered to trailer someone down from Denver if the weather is bad. I'll shovel the driveway again in the morning (grrrrrrrrrrr...) and have the coffee and cocoa ready.

If the afternoon works for you, that's okay.

Call if you need to check on anything.

I'm having a visual of trucks w/trailers trying to find parking on an narrow residential street which may or may not have already been plowed. The word cluster comes to mind.

As comical as this attempted tech day is going to be I am reluctantly calling in a snow-check. See you all on the sunny side in a few weeks.

The snow is done here and the driveway is already melted off (but still wet). The snowplow already hit the neightborhood, but I can't vouch for the roads outside of Perry Park.

Dashek got partway on his bike but the bad conditions on I-25 turned him around, so he will return later in his truck.

Laurie and I are working on her bike, so we're here anyway if anyone wants to stop in.

We'll plan on doing it all again in two weeks.

I'm still looking for my other bike stand, BTW.

Heading south again with bagels, need to make a stop and should be there by 1130

Thanks, Dave. I thought someone had borrowed it, but I lost track.

We have six bikes here now doing doos and various other work. The weather down here is GREAT! We'll be here for several more hours.

Well, we had a nice light tech day. I think there were eight people who showed up. Got a few doos done and two torsion springs installed. The company was good, the weather turned out very nice in the afternoon, and nothing went wrong. Woo hoo!

Thanks especially to Alan and Kelly for helping with the doos.

I also knocked some sealed bearings into Laurie's rear wheel, replaced her tail light with an LED one, and we replaced her handlebars with taller, stronger ones. We didn't get her luggage racks installed because I had accidently ordered the 2008-style racks. We'll get those swapped out and installed soon. While we were wrenching, the postman delivered a package that was supposed to be a couple long shifter levers, but there was only one lever in the box and it wasn't a long lever. Fark. We'll get that fixed, too.

Laurie and I will be doing some easy Colorado dirt roads in the next few weeks so she can get more experience with her KLR on unpaved roads. We will post our intentions in case anyone wants to join us. Many rides will be on weekdays, some on weekends.

The next tech day here will be on May 8th. (I should have my motor delivered and installed by then.)

I'll put in a reminder for the tech day next week.

Got home about half hour ago, after a much more enjoyable ride home than the snowy, wet ride down. Thank you for the hot chili and drinks to help me thaw out.
Very nice meeting a few new faces and seeing some of you again. Can't wait to get out and ride more this year. This summer should be slightly less chaotic than the last.
