Default SW Michigan Ride

I'm looking to gauge interest in a ride next summer (June?). My dealer, Vanderzee Motorplex in South Haven has offered to host the ride with a cook out for lunch. I have not come up with a route yet, but Allegan forest and Yankee Springs State Park would have many gravel and seasonal roads to ride with good scenery.

Let me know if you are interested and I'll get to work setting something up.

Thank,

R/L

Is this ride dead in the water?

I know this thread is older than dirt, but if anyone is interested I have 40 acres adjacent to the Allegan state game area and would love to put together a weekend ride here. Bring your tent and camp on my property. Great HQ for riders in SW Michigan.

How cool would this be?
Is there any facilities? Electric? Water?
If not would still be a great get together for sure.
What about a color tour or something?

Yes, all the facilities we need. It is where I live, not just a chunk of land. Built a house on it 7 years ago and have a little hobby farm. Has a small pond for fishing/swimming. electric down by the pond where most throw tents. 5 minutes to the beaches of Lake Michigan and 200 yards from dirt and state land.

Sounds like fun, I don't live far from there & would be willing to help organize some kind of get together? I work most Saturdays, but could get time off if I knew the dates far enough in advance.

May is crazy with school and kids sports, etc, so time is limited. But I could meet you in Allegan and we could ride the Sate Forst for a few hours and show you some of what I think are better trails/2 tracks (unless u already ride them). Putting together some suggested ride maps woudl be nice for the event.

I like the idea of the fall-color tour, cooler temps. for riding & camping. Plus it would give time to get things figured out. See if there is any interest from other riders. A pre-ride/meeting would be a real good idea. I always can get away on Sunday & have a weekday off either Wed. or Thur. Also have the last 2 weeks of July off, but my granddaughter spends the summer with us & most of my free time is spent with her. IT'S GOING TO BE HARD TO COME UP WITH A DATE THAT WORKS You are thinking of a weekend thing-right? Meet up Fri. pm/Sat. am-ride most of the day Sat. camp Sat. night, maybe a short ride Sun. am to get breakfast. Then clean up & head home late Sun. am/early pm.

Great Idea.
I like the idea of a pre-ride meeting.
I live in Toledo and will be going up to Evart the last full week of July.
I know some of the guys around would love to do a color tour kind of thing.
Best color up there Late September?

What do you think about mid October, the color should be good. The city of Fennville has the goose festival Oct. 12-13, 2013. It's a small town close to the Allegan State Game Area. We could ride in the morning head to Fennville for lunch, gas & check things out-take a break, then maybe head over to Lake Michigan. Just thinking out loud.
